But for some inexplicable reason, the date was given to somebody else. The only explanations are either incompetence in the office or money changing hands. Loyalty meant nothing.

  Our family loves coming to Island House for Thanksgiving. We have rented various units over the years with the most beautiful views. Last few years we rent 2S for the convenience of ground floor with grandkids being able to use bathroom easily from the beach. We travel 16+ hours normally driving. I have learned I basically need to bring my entire kitchen with me due to little equipped casserole dishes, utensils, etc. No potatoe peeler, no oven mits which I had to go out and purchase myself. The air conditioning unit need repair, which was done in a quick manner. The ceiling fan on lanai was full of mold and dirt which housekeeping took care of. The deer broke which I called on with zero response. Also was aggrevated that I added an extra day in front of our normal reservation and was charged a higher daily rental price than my original reservation. We love Island House but it is becoming overpriced with no improvement in the units. The landscaping was improved beautifully. I feel like I deserve a discount for all the aggravation and needing to stock the unit myself. I would love a response from Island House management.

  After over 18 years visiting this property and 43 years coming to siesta key, we loved our stay here on Island Beach Resort House. It is the highlight of our year for our family to visit siesta beach every year. Although they are still recovering from getting hit by two hurricanes last year, Island house is bouncing back better than ever. Upon entering the property, you see lots of villas that are still be renovated (because of hurricane.) This road to the apartment currently seems a bit desolate without the normal bushes, plants, and trees. Once you arrive to the apartments the landscaping and BBQ area is more beautiful than ever.
  
  Island house still cleans the common areas every morning and the beach staff now takes many chairs half way to the shore to make moving chairs in the morning much easier.
  
  We look forward to returning next year to see the completed property.

  Second year at Island House` First time renting 2S which had been recommended by staff.
  We were absolutely thrilled with the condo. The view is stunning and so close to the beach.
  features I liked were the laundry facilities were right out the side door. Guest beds are queens.
  We came right during "love bug" season but it didn't phase us- Saw a few roaches in/around condo but I don't think it's a reflection on the property- it's just nature.
  The condo was stocked with everything we needed and a bonus (that we discovered 1/2 way through the trip) was lots of beach supplies. We left our Kites and Pool Noodles for the next guests to enjoy.
  I can't say enough how much we enjoy this place.

  This is the second year in a row that we have stayed in 2 South. The updates from last year are very nice, as well as some new furniture. Our only problems was with bugs, cockroaches and larger Palmetto Bugs that freaked out the girls and had the guys hunting them down with brooms and bug spray. The furniture outside is also a nice addition. This will mark our 7th visit to the Island House Beach resort and unit 2 South has become our favorite.

  Location Location Location!! the view and access to the beach is amazing, however the room needs updates. The sliding glass door sounds like a creepy horror movie and the door leading to the beach never stays shut so if there is wind outside it opens and closes all night long. The shades in the room are missing panels so when the sun rises so do you because there is no way of blocking the sun. Appliances were updated thank god but I don't know why the refrigerator was left old because it would not stay shut so that is probably not very energy efficient. The bathrooms have mold and black stuff growing on the sides and I am hoping now that my new reservation is charging me $130 to clean I will actually show up to a clean room. I always have to do an initial clean when I arrive because I swear its as if they did nothing. The washer was broken the whole vacation so that was a bit of an inconvenience. Overall location will have me booking this unit again but I just wish the owners would give a little more attention to their investments.

I’ve been coming to Seista Key beach for 36 years and this is one of the nicest places I’ve stayed. Scott in the front office was very accommodating as I had to cancel a trip during Covid.   My family has been coming to Island House for 2 decades now since I was a kid. Now I am an adult taking my family as well and this was our first disappointed stay. 2S was not as updated as other units. We also had a major fly issue which is not normal I am sure, but still put a bit of a damper on things. I think the location is great as it is so close to the beach, but the Patio door and door to outside seems pretty run down. Also some of the blinds are twisted or falling off. One one set of keys worked out of the 2 and even with those it was hard to navigate the front door with the key. Also most other units seem to have access to Smart TV functions like Netflix and I don't think we had that access. The Island House Property was lovely as always just wish the unit was better. The convenience of the beach distance was good but not sure it was worth the lack of upgrades and issues. Regardless we will definitely be back to Island House next year.

  Everyone had a great time with one minor exception. We plan our vacation around July 4 for the great fireworks. Every year until now Island House let us use the beach chairs that night. This year an outside company took over and insister the chairs be put away. One resident who cited previous experience of many years had the police called on him. Very heavy handed and a complete lack of appreciation for the holiday that brings so many people to Island House.

  My husband and I love siesta key .. we have celebrated for our anniversary here for four years.. we have two favorite rooms and our favorite restaurant. We love it so much we added an extra week to visit during the colder months .. honestly a little pricy but it’s worth every penny being on the beach with silky white sand and watching sunset every night and also we can sleep listening to the ocean crashing.   We love Island House, have been going every year for more than a decade and will again next year.
  If there is one downside, a very minor one, it is the fault of other guests. They get up very early and post six or more tents, side by side, effectively blocking much of the access to the water. It they even observed social distancing between tents, there would be no problem.
